Our friends - wonderful friends - Corwin & Eileen just took a New York City vacation and we took care of their kitty cat, the sweet and darling Mandy, who has the World's Cutest Pink Little Nose, Ever, and who purrrrs and loves you and is a dream cat to take care of. Except for the hairballs.
So yesterday David (who had done all of our correspondence with C&E about the trip and supposedly knew their itinerary) sent me off to check in on Mandy, and I put my key in the lock, and ... the door wasn't locked. So I opened the door and there was C&E's stuff in the front entry, no Mandy coming running for affection, and by the looks of it, someone asleep on the sofa. They were HOME.
Thank you, David, for sending me to WAKE UP OUR FRIENDS and possibly FREAK THEM RIGHT THE HECK OUT.
I waited a second to see if anyone had heard me. I heard no sounds at all, so I figured they were, as I suspeced, asleep. I quietly closed the door and returned to the car, where I called David from my cell phone and called him a Neener.
Because whatever a Neener is, David certainly is one for that.
