From my brother Phil:
The last CD I bought was: In the music store: Retriever by Ron Sexsmith; online: Drunkard's Prayer by Over the Rhine. Both are fabulous.
Song playing right now: Nothing currently, but two I've been playing today are Holding Out For a Hero by FrouFrou from the Shrek 2 soundtrack and Staralfur by Sigur Rós, which is on The Life Aquatic soundtrack. Oh, and Mushaboom by Feist from Let it Die. Three yummy songs. Mmmmm. Oh, and Queen Bitch by David Bowie, also from The Life Aquatic soundtrack. I love that soundtrack.
Five songs I listen to a lot or mean a lot to me:
I'm gonna pick five songs I consider great songs, that I listen to intermittently off and on:
Parakeet
by R.E.M. from UP
Keep a Lid on Things
by The Crash Test Dummies from Give Yourself a Hand
Leave
by R.E.M. from New Adventures in Hi-Fi
And
by Waterdeep from Sink or Swim
Nobody's Looking
by Mark Heard from Dry Bones Dance
I could name many more, but let's keep it to the five I was asked for.
I'm not going to tag anyone this time, sorry, already done that today. If you want to do it, consider yourself tagged.
~
My official MEME rules:
1. I'll do it if I feel like it.
2. I probably won't tag anyone.
3. I'll take as long as I want to do it.
4. I won't do it very often.
5. I probably won't do it.
Phil & Annejelyn, you two are great for these tags, I truly do not mind, but I don't want a backlog because of this. I reserve the right to say "whatever, dude" when a memer tags me.
I absolutely adore The Crash Test Dummies.
From the same album I love to crank the volume up on 'Par-tay'.

I'm with you in that I generally don't do the "pass the baton" thing. At the time I decided to "tag" you, I was of course unaware that you had a separate meme tagging you at the same time.
Pesky memes.
Speaking of which, I understand the origin of referring to these things as memes, as I did myself, but they are really a poor variety of meme, as far as memes go. The concept of the self-replicating meme is actually a pretty fascinating one, and to reduce them to the level of a chain-letter is, while technically accurate, a little unfortunate. My random thought for the day. :-)
